Building on the framework introduced in God’s Business Model — Top-Down, this page explores two Scripture words, letter by letter, that are especially fitting for Vertiwords™: image and reflect. Together, these words help trace how God’s nature and intention are expressed and how He reveals Himself through what He makes or creates.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness . They will rule the fish of the sea, birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26 (CSB)
As we consider God’s first action before He spoke a word—hovering over the waters—we can see a foreshadowing of what was to come. Six days later, that reflection appeared in creation when humanity was made in His image. We were created not only to bear His image, but to reflect Him. His rule and sovereignty, revealed from the beginning, were also part of what He intended to be expressed through mankind.
Strong’s Concordance #6754 Old Testament

It takes intention to break away from the way we have always been taught to see. We naturally read words across, following familiar patterns without a second thought. But Vertiwords™ asks us to slow down, look again, and allow a different perspective to emerge. That kind of shift is more than visual—it is spiritual. Romans 12:2 calls us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. When our perspective changes, our understanding begins to change. And when our understanding is renewed, we are able not only to see differently, but to live differently—to bear His image and REFLECT.
He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things and by him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:15-17 (CSB)
Strong’s Concordance #2734 New Testament

These two words, Image and Reflect, belong together, just as the Creator and Christ are united from beginning to end. We find our place within that relationship by what we reflect, and through His Word this becomes both our hope and our aim.
Throughout both the Old Testament and the New, God the Father has been drawing us toward this very change: to be shaped by Him, purified by hope, and to bear His image more fully. It’s God’s Business Model — Top-Down
Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is. And everyone who has this hope in himself purifies himself just as he is pure.
1 John 3:2-3 (CSB)
Behold His Glory
Creator, Master, Heavenly Father
You made me in Your image and likeness. Thank you that Your desire is not only that I know You, but I reflect You in the way I think, speak, love, and live. Give me eyes to see as Christ sees. Open my heart to recognize Your presence, Your purposes and Your handiwork in the world around me and in my times of struggle. Let me behold Your glory and be transformed into the likeness of Your Son day by day. Amen
